Ambassador Mahmoud Adam Jama GALAAL
Mahmoud Adan Jama Galaal currently serves as the Representative of the Republic of Somaliland to the Republic of China (Taiwan), a post he has held since January 2025.
Ambassador Galaal is a senior statesman with extensive experience in foreign affairs and national governance. He previously served as Ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, where he played a pivotal role in strengthening bilateral relations and led high-level negotiations that resulted in the 2015 Dire Dawa Agreement. He has also held cabinet-level appointments as State Minister for Health and State Minister for Planning and National Development, where he contributed to the design of national development strategies and spearheaded key healthcare and infrastructure initiatives, with a particular focus on underserved regions.
While in opposition, he served as the WADDANI Party’s Secretary of Information (Shadow Minister of Information), where he was a prominent member of the party’s leadership. A skilled bilingual orator, he played a decisive role in shaping public discourse and was an instrumental figure in the success of the 2024 presidential election that brought the current government to power. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Middlesex University and maintains a strong personal interest in Somali History and Literature.
